Beginning the week of March 30:
Students and their guardians will receive a phone call from a teacher during this week to determine students' accessibility to technology and other necessary resources during this time.
The best way to communicate with teachers and other staff is though email, which can be found on our Contact page. Staff will check voicemail, but due to limited access, emails will be the most effective means of communication with staff members.
Teachers will be uploading supplemental learning resources for students and families to access. Please note that the resources are optional for families and will not be graded. Updated resources will be available online every Friday, and hard copies of resources will be available the following Monday each week. Hard copies can be picked up at Fremont during the scheduled meal pick up times or will delivered with the meals on the meal bus routes, which are described in the next paragraph.
In addition to regular communication and providing supplemental learning, the Roseburg School District will be adding meal delivery along newly created bus routes within the school district boundaries. A free breakfast and a lunch will be provided as a “grab and go” meal for all youth ages 0-18. Adults may visit the stops and pick up a bag with meals for their children without their child being present. Children at the stop may also take an extra meal for other youth in the home. Please be aware of social distancing at the bus stops and at schools for your safety and the safety of others. Bus routes for meal delivery can be found on the District Home Page. Meals will still be available on site at each school for families who choose to pick them up there. Students can pick up breakfast on site between 8:30-9:30am and lunch between 12:00-1:00pm.
April 7-8:
For students who indicated a need for Chromebooks during the closure, Fremont will be open for drive up pick up on Tuesday 4/7 and Wednesday 4/8 from 9am to 11am and 4pm to 6pm right in front of the library’s exterior door located at the east side parking lot. It will be a drive through process and families need to stay inside their vehicles during the pick-up process. We are asking that families bring a backpack or some way of protecting the Chromebooks being sent home with your family. You can only pick up one Chromebook for each Fremont student. If there are siblings that attend a different school in Roseburg, then will need to go to their school to pick up theirs. Each Chromebook will be assigned to a Fremont student and eventually tracked through our Library system. Parent must show their identification or the Fremont student(s) needs to be present. There will be an online agreement that will need to be filled out electronically at a later time and more communication regarding that will come from our district’s technology department.
